We who are conservatives and realists are often astonished and dismayed at how modern liberals think and how they could possibly have such contempt and hatred for the most free, prosperous and helpful nation the world has ever known, the country of their birth. And how can they possibly equate the cause of the Islamists, who wish to impose a hateful and murderous tyranny on us, with the cause of Western culture and of the tiny, democratic state of Israel – a country that has produced scores of Nobel prize winners and marvels of medical and physics breakthroughs – as the Islamists produce nothing but severed heads, child murderers and mutilated women?
