Minnesota man pleads guilty to threatening Obama
A Minnesota man pleaded guilty to threatening to kill President Obama and his family.
The U.S. attorney's office in Minneapolis says 35-year-old Chane Phillip Christenson of St. Paul pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of making a threat to take the life of the president.
Christenson was indicted in April. That indictment initially was filed under seal.
In his plea agreement, Christenson admitted that on Jan. 6 he sent an e-mail to the White House website stating that he intended to kill the president, First Lady Michelle Obama and their two children. Christenson also admitted that he previously sent a similar e-mail to the White House.
Christenson faces up to five years in prison when sentenced.
