What is it about fascist dictators and their psychological need to impose their vision of the "perfect" automobile on the public? Hitler did this with the Volkswagen Type One (Beetle) and Obama is doing this with the GM Volt. At least Hitler's VW Beetle was a cutting edge technological vision for its time of invention in the 1930s that was mass produced until 2003 as a rugged, dependable and economical means transportation. This is in marked contrast to Obama's GM Volt which is a reactionary and very expensive one hundred year step back to the past in automobile technology.
The moral to my story is that cars - like fascist dictators - ain't what they used to be.
