The first time I visited the "Golden State" of California was in late 1969 as a soldier on leave from the Southeast Asian war. I remember being very impressed with nearly everything about California - especially the entry level to the middle class that was easily accessed by anyone with ambition and a love of hard work. Today the "California Dream" has become the hideous "California Nightmare" of rule by a parasite class of socialists and a dangerous subclass of drug addicts, gang bangers and welfare cheats.
