Notice the title of his book here!!!
Perhaps a more accurate title would have read - Juan Williams Canned by NPR "National Public Radio" for "Anti-Muslim" Remarks... ON FOX NEWS
Liberal commentator, Juan Williams, has been terminated by NPR for remarks made on Fox News's The O'Reilly Factor. The Dem-apologist - who has made great strides in recent years toward a permanent move to the Right - made comments regarding post-911 travel and was unceremoniously bounced from publicly funded radio. Tax payer dollars at work right? Free Speech in action?
You can see the comments at the center of the firing below.

In watching the clip, I have to say that it seems rather off-the-cuff and unrehearsed to me - certainly not reflective of some deep-rooted hatred or discriminatory tendencies. While I wish he could have left out the obligatory - "you know I'm not a bigot but...." disclaimer, Williams was simply sharing a feeling of reservation felt by many every time they board a flight in the post-911 world. That's not racist; that's not insensitive; that's not even counterintuitive. Okay, it may technically be the first two, but its certainly not the latter. While it may have been extremists who carried out those horrific acts that day, it was in fact still a group of Muslim extremists - and they weren't wearing special "terror gear" that told their fellow passengers the wild ride they had in store for them.
The reality is simple. In the post-911 world that we now live in, we are told on a daily basis that we are supposed to; that we have a duty to; remain aware of suspicious activity and to alert the authorities when something seems out of the norm - to remain "vigilant." Forgive me for being close-minded, but when someone tells me to "be on the lookout" for a someone fitting fill-in-the-blank description, I either contact authorities or get the hell out of there. If someone has all the tell-tale signs of airborne Jihad, forgive me for sleeping with one eye open. I really don't care if feelings get hurt. While traditional Muslim garb may hardly even garner a reaction from me on an elevator or in line at the deli, similar attire on a Delta Flight will certainly get my attention, so if that makes Juan Williams a racist or even insensitive, lump me in and start the social reconditioning immediately because I need help.
New York Times: NPR has terminated its contract with Juan Williams, one of its senior news analysts, after he made comments about Muslims on the Fox News Channel.
NPR said in a statement that it gave Mr. Williams notice of his termination on Wednesday night.
The move came after Mr. Williams, who is also a Fox News political analyst, appeared on the “The O’Reilly Factor” on Monday. On the show, the host, Bill O’Reilly, asked him to respond to the notion that the United States was facing a “Muslim dilemma.” Mr. O’Reilly said, “The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.”
Mr. Williams said he concurred with Mr. O’Reilly.
He continued: “I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous."
NPR said in its statement that the remarks “were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”
Alicia C. Shepard, the NPR ombudswoman, said at the time that Mr. Williams was a “lightning rod” for the public radio organization in part because he “tends to speak one way on NPR and another on Fox.”
Ms. Shepard said she had received 378 listener e-mails in 2008 listing complaints and frustrations about Mr. Williams.
How bout we all send an email a day complaining about one of their Lefty commentators and see if we can clean house with all of them by this time next year. Take my 365, and all 13 or so of you depending on my traffic today, and maybe just maybe NPR can do some actual reporting of the news in latter months of 2011.

From Michelle Malkin - Guess who stirred up the pot to get Williams fired?
Think Progress and the Huffington Post:
Another point worth thinking about here... Isn't this the same crowd that always tells us that minorities can't be racists?

A comment at Big Journalism asks this question
Are Juan Williams’ statements worse that Obama’s regarding his grandmother?
“My grandmother… is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know, there’s a reaction in her that doesn’t go away and it comes out in the wrong way.”

This is the second time I’ve seen the liberal yo-yos take off on Juan Williams when he has “overstepped” his bounds and spoken a truth that was against the “party line”.
I have said more than once in the past that a government run co-opted media is but one step towards the Soviet style dictatorship that we witnessed with the old USSR. This is beyond Big Brother. This is not only the squashing of Free Speech, but is in fact taking away one of our most sacred rights. And he wasn’t even on an NPR show!
This Political Correctness, which is nothing more than a Gestapo style propaganda issue has to stop!
I for one do not agree with some of Mr. Williams stands. however, he has never been afraid to call it as he sees it and in this case he was correct! Whether I agree with him or not, I find him to be candid and honest in his views. To be fired for relating the truth is beyond everything we hold sacred in this country.
Kudos to Mr. Williams for daring to stand up to the kind of censorship that is so warmly welcome by leftist Soviet and NAZI style governments!
