new U.S. Army patch with scimitars is downright creepy here is an image of the new patch on the right, next to an image of a Muslim Brotherhood symbol on the left.

…..If our military is willing to become an arm of an Islamophile president who is actively helping to advance the Caliphate while weakening the United States, then what’s left?..

In April 1999, we were all stunned by the news that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold had attacked and killed students at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado and, more recently, in December 2012, that Adam Lanza, after killing his mother at home, then massacred twenty-six staff and students at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. These events evoke dread of potential events, a quest to understand why they occurred, and ways to avoid further comparable killings.

Peter Langman has authored “School Shooters: Understanding High School, College, and Adult Perpetrators.” It offers very little comfort, but only because this psychologist, widely recognized for his expertise, is refreshingly honest.

“Many people seek to reduce school shootings to a bite-sized explanatory chunk, but the phenomenon defies easy analysis,” says Langman. “There is no one cause of school shootings, there is no one intervention that will prevent school shootings, and there is no one profile of a school shooter.”

He offers a wealth of information about forty-eight shooters He divides them into “Psychopathic shooters” whom he describes as “profoundly narcissistic, arrogant, and entitled; they lacked empathy, and met their needs at other’s expense” and ”psychotic shooters” who “suffered from schizophrenia or a related disorder. They were out of touch with reality to varying degrees, experiencing hallucinations or delusions.”

“Unlike the psychopathic and psychotic shooters, who generally came from well-functioning, intact families, traumatized shooters endured chronic abuse as children. They grew up in violent, severely dysfunctional homes.” Most fell into the first two categories.

I would like to offer the reader some comfort that school shooters can be “spotted” in advance, but in most of the cases that Langman cites, they looked like everyone else in any school. Only if one of them was to confide his plan was there any opportunity to intervene and then only if he was reported.

Among the psychopathic category “at least 75 percent (nine out of twelve) had body issues. Many of these physical characteristics had a direct bearing on perceived manliness, including short stature, thin build, chest deformity, and fear of sterility” leading Langham to suggest a link between feeling weak or damaged and extreme narcissism. It is widely believed that bullying is linked to these events, but Langham notes that while about forty percent were harassed only one targeted a bully. While there is concern these days about bullying in schools, it is mostly due to a heightened awareness, not because there is more or less of it than has ever existed.

One thing does stand out, however, “nearly all shooters had bad educational experiences, including academic difficulties (failing classes, repeated grades, not graduating) or disciplinary problems…at least 92 percent had negative academic or disciplinary experiences.” And then there’s this: “At least 38 percent of shooters had relatives who worked or volunteered in schools.”

Another common factor was that “at least half of the perpetrators engaged in substance abuse (illegal drugs, prescription drugs, or alcohol.) In addition, “at least 42 percent of the shooters had a history of legal troubles, including arrests, contempt of court, and loss of a driver’s license.”

“Many shooters had trouble getting or holding jobs.” This was particularly true of the older shooters. Charles Whitman, an American engineering student at the University of Texas, gained infamy when in August 1966 he killed his wife and mother in their homes and later that day went to the Austin campus where he killed sixteen people and wounded 32 others over the course of ninety minutes, firing from the observation deck of the main building before being killed by an Austin police officer.

To academic and employment problems, add romantic failures. “Most shooters either failed to establish any romantic or sexual relationships or else suffered breakups or rejections that contributed to their anguish and anger.”

It should surprise no one that a number of the shooters “had specific role models for violence, including serial killers, mass murders, and other school shooters.” Most of them were psychotic, whereas the psychopaths “felt no need to attach themselves to a source of power; they were the source of power.”

Out of this densely documented book Langham concludes “There is no one way to prevent school shootings.” What also emerges is the fact that “Most school shooters leave a trail of warning signs that are either not noticed or not responded to.”

What the shootings are not about is gun ownership. Many of the shooters came from families that owned guns and used them for hunting or sport shooting. They had little reason to regard them as instruments with which to kill people other than their own twisted psychological interpretation.

What I came away with was the conclusion that the shooters are people we would all easily identify as “losers.” Beyond that, there is no specific way of identifying them, only suspicions of their capability to do the unthinkable.

The most insensitive picture ever

Have you ever wondered what is the most insensitive picture ever? Well, according to the internet it's Mahmoud Abbas grinning like a jackass at the French anti-terror rally. Makes sense!

But yeah, it's official...even Google says so.

Check it out here:

And if you don't believe me, just type "most insensitive picture ever" into Google. Can't say it could have happened to a better (worse) man.

GRAPHIC CONTENT–’Carly Fiorina Was Right': Group Releases Full Abortion Video Mentioned in GOP Debate

The Center for Bioethical Reform, in partnership with the Grantham collection, has released the full version of a video which became a source of political controversy after the 2nd Republican debate.
The 13 minute long video shows the birth of what CBR describes as a “17 1/2 week fetus.” The fetus is placed in a metal pan with a clamp attached to its umbilical cord. A comparison demonstrates the new video is the source of the brief segment that appeared in a video produced by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), a pro-life investigatory group which has produced undercover videos critical of Planned Parenthood.
During CNN’s Republican primary debate on September 16, Carly Fiorina challenged Hillary Clinton to watch a video clip which showed “a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says, ‘We have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.’”
After the debate, various news outlets claimed to be unable to locate any such video. In a post titled, “Carly Fiorina is wrong about the Planned Parenthood tapes. I know because I watched them,” Vox‘s Sarah Kliff said the video was “pure fiction.” Kliff later updated her story after a link to the video in question was provided by the Federalist‘s Mollie Hemingway.
The graphic video of a “fully formed fetus… its legs kicking” appears in episode 3 of a multi-part documentary produced by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP). This video shows former tissue procurement specialist Holly O’Donnell describing how she was shown an intact fetus with a beating heart. O’Donnell says of this moment, “I don’t know if that constitutes it’s technically dead, or it’s alive.” O’Donnell was then asked to harvest brain tissue from the same fetus by cutting through its face.
As O’Donnell narrates her gruesome experience, the video shifts to 10 seconds of a fetus in a metal bowl which is still moving. The video is clearly labeled as coming from the Grantham Collection & Center for Bioethical Reform. It is not video of the fetus O’Donnell is describing but was inserted by the producers to illustrate what a living fetus at this gestation would look like.
The Examiner helpfully broke down the claims made by Carly Fiorina as follows:
A) Footage of a baby who survived an abortion — notably, this baby may not have been at Planned Parenthood*, and we have no reason to think he or she was cut up for his or her organs.
B) Abortion clinic officials saying things that could suggest they may deliver live babies, rather than abort them, in order to preserve the value of the body parts.
C) The first-hand account of former biotech worker Holly O’Donnell, who described an aborted baby boy whose heart was still beating and who was cut up for his brain.
Carly Fiorina appears to have conflated the video of the fetus with the story being told by O’Donnell at the same time. It’s fair to say Fiorina’s description was incorrect to the degree it treated both incidents as relating to one fetus; however, both the brain harvesting incident and the video of a fully formed, kicking fetus are real.
Breitbart News spoke to the source of the video, the Center for Bioethical Reform, last week. CBR’s Gregg Cunningham said at the time, “This is an absolutely real video of an abortion.” He added, “People always try to claim the images and video are not real.” Cunningham explained that their agreement with abortion clinics strictly prevents them from releasing any information which might lead to the clinic being identified. A press release today states, “Violating these prohibitions could subject CBR to legal liability and jeopardize clinic access for current and future projects. We are even obligated to delete the audio track on all of our videos.”
As for the documentary produced by the Center for Medical Progress, Cunningham explained that he allowed his video to be used by CMP on one condition, that it was clearly labeled so their would be no misunderstanding about what was being shown. Cunningham says he believes CMP’s David Daleiden lived up to that requirement: “I feel that he, in a very intellectually honest way, indicated that this was not part of his undercover work.” He added, “I feel that he’s being held to an unfair standard.”
Breitbart News is providing the full video released by the Center for Bioethical Reform so viewers can verify for themselves that this is the source of the brief clip previously seen in the CMP documentary which led to its being described in the GOP debate. CBR released the clip early Tuesday morning with the title “Carly Fiorina was right.”
Warning to Readers: This video is extremely graphic and includes the fetus being expelled from a woman’s body as well as images of the fetus in the metal bowl. The section that appeared in the CMP video clip can be found at about 3:40 into this clip.

OBAMA SINGS, "My Sharia amour, Law of the religion I adore...."

Sharia Amour.

I was watching Fox News this morning and a retired SS agent came on "Fox and Friends" to complain that his active duty SS agent pals weren't getting paid enough, as it would appear their pay is capped at $174,000 per year, which is the lowest wage for a U.S. Congress Creature, regardless of the number of hours worked.

I did a quick fact checking by way of Google and it would appear that most SS agents have a salary that is above $100,000 a year after only five years service - and if they get the maximum salary allowed of $174K - this puts those lucky individuals in the elite 1.5 percent of all wage earners in America!

The above $100,000 wage is just one item in the SS agents five star golden compensation package: they receive 30 days paid vacation per year, retirement (which they do not contribute) after 25 years, Excellent federal civil service medical benefits, free life insurance, and membership in the federal credit union with low cost loans for houses, cars, boats, etc.

I don't know what the money breakdown for the five star golden compensation package per year is, but I would estimate at least $100,000 per year per SS agents.

Yes, I know some SS agents put their well paid lives in harms way for those they protect, but how many well paid and compensated SS agents have been killed defending politicians? I can't think of ONE off the top of my head, although I do recall one very unusual brave, patriotic and SOBER SS agent wounded taking a bullet meant for President Reagan in 1981 during a failed assassination attempt.

Yes, I would question the SS agents drinking habits: During the SUCCESSFUL JFK assassination in 1963, the SS agent had partied all the previous night and showed up for work hungover. It would appear from their highly questionable actions of  during a fateful and terrible day for America that hangovers by a majority of JFK's SS agents were an important factor in the success of Lee H. Oswald.

I wonder how much those 18 year old Army privates killed in Afghanistan and Iraq during 2001 to 2015 were paid per year? I would make a wild guess their salary and compensation package was far less than SS agents.

Hey SS guys and dolls - This old retired Army sergeant is playing the world's most tiny violin for all you poor little underpaid and heroic bullet stopping SS agents.

Muslim no-go zones in America

America's Freedom Fighters  Video at the link.

"Muslim and Jihadist compounds are all over America and are hostile to surrounding communities! Funded by Pakistani radicals, at least 22 villages in 9 states have been tracked that are teaching Jihad terrorist tactics and this needs to stop NOW!"

One thing that that has puzzled a lot of people since the selection of Pope Francis two years ago is how a left-leaning Pope could succeed two very serious conservative Popes—John Paul II and Benedict XVI—who you would have thought had stacked the ranks of the Cardinals with clergy that would perpetuate their theological and philosophical outlook. Was Benedict hounded out of office by some kind of internal Vatican scandal perhaps? Was there some ecclesiastical version of a coup?

There’s no evidence that I’m aware of—until now. Three days ago the National Catholic Register ran a very curious article about the contents of a newly published authorized biography of retired Belgian cardinal Godfried Danneels. The Register article reports....

Nasa scientists find evidence of flowing water on Mars

Liquid water runs down canyons and crater walls over the summer months on Mars, according to researchers who say the discovery raises the chances of being home to some form of life.

The trickles leave long, dark stains on the Martian terrain that can reach hundreds of metres downhill in the warmer months, before they dry up in the autumn as surface temperatures drop.

Images taken from the Mars orbit show cliffs, and the steep walls of valleys and craters, streaked with summertime flows that in the most active spots combine to form intricate fan-like patterns.
Scientists are unsure where the water comes from, but it may rise up from underground ice or salty aquifers, or condense out of the thin Martian atmosphere.

“There is liquid water today on the surface of Mars,” Michael Meyer, the lead scientist on Nasa’s Mars exploration programme, told the Guardian. “Because of this, we suspect that it is at least possible to have a habitable environment today.”

The water flows could point Nasa and other space agencies towards the most promising sites to find life on Mars, and to landing spots for future human missions where water can be collected from a natural supply.

Some of the earliest missions to Mars revealed a planet with a watery past. Pictures beamed back to Earth in the 1970s showed a surface crossed by dried-up rivers and plains once submerged beneath vast ancient lakes. Earlier this year, Nasa unveiled evidence of an ocean that might have covered half of the planet’s northern hemisphere in the distant past.

But occasionally, Mars probes have found hints that the planet might still be wet. Nearly a decade ago, Nasa’s Mars Global Surveyor took pictures of what appeared to be water bursting through a gully wall and flowing around boulders and other rocky debris. In 2011, the high-resolution camera on Nasa’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter captured what looked like little streams flowing down crater walls from late spring to early autumn. Not wanting to assume too much, mission scientists named the flows “recurring slope lineae” or RSL.

Researchers have now turned to another instrument on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter to analyse the chemistry of the mysterious RSL flows. Lujendra Ojha, of Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, and his colleagues used a spectrometer on the MRO to look at infrared light reflected off steep rocky walls when the dark streaks had just begun to appear, and when they had grown to full length at the end of the Martian summer.

Writing in the journal Nature Geosciences, the team describes how it found infra-red signatures for hydrated salts when the dark flows were present, but none before they had grown. The hydrated salts – a mix of chlorates and perchlorates – are a smoking gun for the presence of water at all four sites inspected: the Hale, Palikir and Horowitz craters, and a large canyon called Coprates Chasma.

“These may be the best places to search for extant life near the surface of Mars,” said Alfred McEwen, a planetary geologist at the University of Arizona and senior author on the study. “While it would be very important to find evidence of ancient life, it would be difficult to understand the biology. Current life would be much more informative.”

The flows only appear when the surface of Mars rises above -23C. The water can run in such frigid conditions because the salts lower the freezing point of water, keeping it liquid far below 0C.
“The mystery has been, what is permitting this flow? Presumably water, but until now, there has been no spectral signature,” Meyer said. “From this, we conclude that the RSL are generated by water interacting with perchlorates, forming a brine that flows downhill.”

John Bridges, a professor of planetary science at the University of Leicester, said the study was fascinating, but might throw up some fresh concerns for space agencies. The flows could be used to find water sources on Mars, making them prime spots to hunt for life, and to land future human missions. But agencies were required to do their utmost to avoid contaminating other planets with microbes from Earth, making wet areas the most difficult to visit. “This will give them lots to think about,” he said.

For now, researchers are focused on learning where the water comes from. Porous rocks under the Martian surface might hold frozen water that melts in the summer months and seeps up to the surface.

Another possibility is that highly concentrated saline aquifers are dotted around beneath the surface, not as pools of water, but as saturated volumes of gritty rock. These could cause flows in some areas, but cannot easily explain water seeping down from the top of crater walls.

A third possibility, and one favoured by McEwen, is that salts on the Martian surface absorb water from the atmosphere until they have enough to run downhill. The process, known as deliquescence, is seen in the Atacama desert, where the resulting damp patches are the only known place for microbes to live.

“It’s a fascinating piece of work,” Bridges said. “Our view of Mars is changing, and we’ll be discussing this for a long time to come.”

Civil unrest and street fighting has begun in Germany

In a build-up to what might end in a regular civil war, Germany now warns of a massive right-wing radicalization due to the migrant crisis - as street fighting and clashes erupt between left-wing and right-wing demonstrators in several German cities.

The migrant and refugee crisis has led to that right-wing extremists are mobilizing in Germany, warns the German security services BfV.

- What we see in connection with the refugee crisis is that right-wing extremists are mobilizing in the streets, but also that the radical left mobilize against them, says Hans-Georg Maassen, chief of Bundesamts für Verfassungsschutz (BfV), to German radio on Sunday.

The extreme groups show a greater willingness to use violence, he informs. This applies to both right-wing radicals, anti-racists (fascists) on the left, and Islamists.

On Saturday night, police and soldiers had to protect two buses with 100 immigrants and refugees who were taken to a reception center in the town of Niederau in the east German state of Saxony. Protesters gathered at the reception center, a former supermarket.

Demonstrations against refugees and immigrants gathered over 1,000 people in several towns in the northeastern state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on Friday.

In the coastal town of Stralsund, three people were wounded in clashes with counter-demonstrators. Also in Leipzig, regular street fights between demonstrators from left and right erupted.

So far this year there have been 22 attempts to set fire to reception centers, including reception centers which had not yet been taken into use, according to Maassen.

But not only the extreme groups protest the out-of-control migrant situation.

In Dresden, tens of thousands of ordinary Germans, men, women and children, gathered in the city center to peacefully protest this week.

Israel Will Attack Iran Soon

By Alan Caruba

The Israelis will destroy several Iranian nuclear facilities and my educated guess is that they will do so before the end of this year.

Israel has no margin of error when it comes to nuclear reactors in nations that threaten its existence. While President Obama does everything in his power to enable Iran to create its own nuclear weapons, it is a good idea to recall that in June 1981 the Israelis destroyed a reactor in Iraq. It was the first air strike against such a facility. In September 2007, the Israelis destroyed a Syrian reactor. There was no reprisal in either case.

From Wednesday, April 22 to Friday April 24 the Israelis struck Hizbollah and Syrian military targets in the Walamoun Mountains on the Syrian-Lebanese border. The calculations were that the location, a site for long-range missiles, would be safer from the Israelis. They were wrong.

In September 2014, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United Nations General Assembly warning “don’t be fooled by Iran’s manipulative charm offensive. It’s designed for one purpose and for one purpose only. To lift the sanctions and remove the obstacles to Iran’s path to the bomb.”

“Once Iran produces atomic bombs, all the charm and all the smiles will suddenly disappear. They’ll just vanish. It’s then that the ayatollahs will show their true face and unleash their aggressive fanaticism on the entire world.”  He offered a comparable message to a joint meeting of Congress in March of this year.

Is anyone listening? Not President Obama. On April 25, writing in The Wall Street Journal, Mortimer Zuckerman, the chairman and editor in chief of the U.S. News and World Report, said “President Obama has been chasing a rainbow in his negotiations with Iran. He has forsaken decades of pledges to the civilized world from presidents of both parties. He has misled the American people in repeatedly affirming that the U.S. would never allow revolutionary Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.”

It’s bad enough when you can’t trust your nation’s enemies, but when you cannot trust your own President you have a very big problem because Iran is not just a threat to America and Israel, but to the entire world.

Obama’s anti-Semitism is obvious to anyone paying the least attention. He particularly loathes Israel. In early April the White House let its unhappiness be known that Netanyahu had, in its words, failed to tone down “hostile and aggressive language” of the Passover religious service. What were those words? “Next year in Jerusalem.”

This is an ancient Jewish prayer that sustained generations of Jews over the course of two millennia, expressing their hope to return to their homeland. To the White House, however, it was “affront to the Palestinians, not to mention a slap in the face to President Obama himself who has worked tirelessly for peace despite Israeli intransigence.” The Jews returned to Israel, declared its independence in 1948, and have had the support of every President since…until Obama.

The Israelis know this. Since their independence the Israelis have fought seven recognized wars, two Palestinian intifadas, and a series of armed conflicts in the broader Arab-Israeli conflict. Most recently they put down Hamas in the Gaza once again for its repeated rocketing.

Despite or because of this, the Israelis have sought to demonstrate good will toward their Arab neighbors. There is an untold story of the December 2014 meeting of six Gulf Cooperation Council rulers in the Qatari capital of Doha to discuss steps to respond to challenges that include Iranian aggression and clamping down on the Muslim Brotherhood.

Sources close to event report that Netanyahu has achieved close coordination with the most important Arab leaders that include Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Other members of the Council include Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Israelis have no choice, nor do I anticipate that Iran will do much, if anything, to respond in the wake of the ashes of those facilities. No other nation will come to their aid.

Janeane Garofalo: Communist Party Comedian

SHOCKING! Janeane Garofalo once did comedy gigs for the American Communist officials in Los Angeles! So naturally this is the woman who says that all Tea Party protestors are dumb "Rednecks." Well, it'd say little ole Janeane should know all about the color RED and STUPID.

Garofalo officially began her career in stand-up comedy in the late 1980s during the pre-grunge era. Her appearance was often in line with late 1980s style: disheveled with thick black glasses and unkempt hair. Her comedy is often self-deprecating; she has made fun of popular culture and the pressures on women to conform to body image ideals promoted by the media.

Garofalo's Leftist oriented comedy shows involve her notebook, entitled, "I Love Socialism And Hate The United States," which is filled with years' worth of news article clippings from The New York Times and random observations she references for direct quotes during her act. Garofalo has said that she does not tell jokes as much as make observations designed to get laughs from a mostly Leftist audience who are easy to please. She was part of the Communist Party comedy scene in Los Angeles in the early 1990s, appearing at The Worker's Club and other venues.

A man saved me from drowning, but now I am suing him for rape because he touched me.

20-year old feminist Cassidy Boon speaks of a traumatic experience involving #SaveRape

A week ago I was close to dying from drowning. Here’s what happened…

I was at this lake, having my first swim for the summer and although it was cold in the water it was quite pleasant and I finally got to try on my new super cute bikini. So anyway there’s this ten feet high, floating jumping tower out in the middle of the lake and I swam there to go practice my jumps. So I swatted away some annoying kids who were looking inappropriately at my body, and climbed the ladder up to the top platform, (there were three all in all, at different heights), and jumped.

There was a BANG, an explosion of pain, and then it all went black.

The next thing I knew I was being dragged through the water, by a man, and blood was running down my face and into my mouth. I didn’t have any idea what had happened, my head was spinning and throbbing and I felt like I was going to throw up. The man who was dragging me was like 40 or something and towed me towards the floating platform. I didn’t like this situation at all – at all. I asked him what had happened (in a very slurred tone) and he told me I had hit my head on the way down from the jumping platform, that I had been knocked unconscious and that I had been under water for at least two minutes. He said that he had been lucky to have felt my hand in the depths and that I was nearly at the bottom when he pulled me up. He carried me up the little ladder and laid me down on the wooden boards of the floating platform. People were gathering around us, gasping, screaming, crying. I was astonished, I couldn’t believe it, I couldn’t believe I was alive. I was feeling like shit though, I was woozy, I was in pain, but most of all, most of all, I was disgusted.

I was disgusted at this hairy man having felt it appropriate to touch my body like that. To grab me forcefully and pull me in what ever direction HE wanted to go. He took control of my body down there in the cold water, when I was unconscious and unable to look out for myself, he touched my all-but-bikini bare body when I was KNOCKED out and unable to struggle. Him, being a white man, felt he had the right to possess my milky body – to put his rough hands on my innocent flesh and command my body to come with him to the surface. I did NOT give him consent, in fact I was UNABLE to give consent and yet he grabbed me around my waist and gripped my hand and pressed my body against his like we he wanted to engage in aquatic sex.

I am now charging or suing or whatever this man for rape – because what he did is literally the definition of rape – he exerted his Patriarchal power over me and did stuff to my body without my consent. Sure, he saved me from drowning, but if we start excusing rape just because our rapists did a nice thing to us, we’re really just excusing rape culture. I know a lot of misogynists and anti-feminists are going to be all like “hurr durr, you should thank that man for saving you, you wouldn’t be there without him, he only touched you because he needed to save you from downing” Oh yeah and by that shoddy logic we should excuse serial killers for being nice to hitchhikers and picking them up before killing them. The truth is HE RAPED ME, HE PUT HIS HANDS ON ME WITHOUT MY CONSENT, and regardless of saving my life or not, he needs his due punishment for violating me in that disgusting way. If you don’t see anything wrong with what he did, you’re a rape apologist. Sure it was kind of a nice thing to do to save me and all, but that doesn’t excuse him raping me.

The guy, my rapist, who’s name I later learned was Jim, is due before courts soon, charged with rape. When I told him I was pressing charges, he was shocked, then he got angry and then he even began to cry when he thought about what his family would have to go through. Seeing my rapist break down that way was nothing less than empowering and I am glad I am able to put him before the justice system and have him punished for what he put me through. There is no way I am losing this fight. Jim will get at least ten years in prison – my lawyers will make sure of that and maybe this will set an example for other men who think they have the right to touch women without consent.

I hope to start a revolution now. I hope to shed some light on a very rare, but very damaging form of rape that doesn’t get enough attention. It’s called “Save rape” and it’s what I was subjected too, deep, deep down in that filthy lakewater and I know – I KNOW – many hundred girls are subjected to the same thing every year from strange men who grab their chance to cop a feel.

I’m starting this hashtag #SaveRape right now to spread awareness about this issue and you all should totally tweet under it. Let’s go people, let’s take down the Patriarchy, one tweet at a time.

Santa Ana police on Friday asked for the public’s help in identifying an assailant who punched and kicked an 83-year-old man in a vicious attack that was captured on surveillance video.

Surveillance video provided by the Santa Ana Police Department shows an assailant standing over an 81-year-old man after a vicious attack that left the elderly victim hospitalized.
Surveillance video provided by the Santa Ana Police Department shows an assailant standing over an 83-year-old man after a vicious attack that left the elderly victim hospitalized.

The incident occurred after the victim pulled into a parking lot at 5015 West Edinger Ave. (map) about 6:10 a.m., parked and exited his vehicle, the Santa Ana Police Department said in a news release.

Family members later gave the man's name as Tuyen Nguyen.

In accordance with his morning routine, he was on his way to buy coffee and a newspaper, police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.

Footage released by authorities shows Nguyen walking unassumingly when he is suddenly approached by another man, who punches him in the face.

In an attack that police detectives described as “without provocation,” Nguyen then falls to the ground and is apparently punched at least two more times before being kicked by the assailant.

The elderly man was hospitalized at Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for a brain hemorrhage and broken facial bones, according to relatives.

"He's in a lot of pain right now, physically," his daughter, Julie Nguyen said. "And for us it's a mental anguish, mental pain. It's a lot."

Authorities initially said the victim was 81 years old. His family later confirmed he was 83.

"I'm still in shock," said his son, Peter Nguyen. "I still can't believe this would happen to my family, especially to my father. He is the nicest individual — the last one that you could think something like this would happen to."

The attacker was being sought. Investigators described him as black, about 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, unshaven and wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt or black sweater.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Detective Cpl. Leo Rodriquez of the Santa Ana Police Department at 714-493-9135 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.

By Alan Caruba

When you’ve lived over seven decades in America, the news about another race riot is really not news. It’s just another race riot.

The latest is Baltimore and the theme for this one is police violence against an unarmed black youth. This was the theme of the Ferguson, Missouri riots last year and has been a fairly common theme since the arrival of the new century fifteen years ago. Such events included riots in Cincinnati in 2001, the Oakland riots in 2009, and the two most recent.

A December 2014 article in Real Clear Politics by Jack Kelly put the statistics in perspective. “Young black males are 21 times more likely to be shot dead by police than are young white males, Pro Publica said. But because more than two-thirds of police officers are white and blacks commit about half of violent crimes, it stands to reason most police shootings would involve a white cop and a black suspect.”

Largely unreported is that “Black cops shot black suspects at essentially the same rate as white cops…”

For those of us outside of the black community and living in safe suburban zones surrounding our cities, the riots might as well be taking place on Mars. Why anyone would, as is often the case, destroy their own neighborhood, loot and burn down businesses (often black-owned) defies an answer.

Because riots offer television news dramatic images of violence and destruction, one can depend on coverage for a long as it lasts. Being photographed looting or engaging in violence against police and others seems to be one of the “perks” of rioting. Baltimore’s riot dominated the news on every channel Monday evening to the point one might conclude that nothing else of any importance was occurring anywhere in the world. The earthquake devastation in Nepal had to fight for the very few minutes of coverage it received.

It is astonishing to recall that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was able to lead many civil rights marches with so little violence, but it was the years concurrent with and following the passage of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts in 1964 and 1965 that saw large riots such as several in 1964 in Philadelphia, Chicago, and New York. There were three just in New Jersey that year.

Having achieved the goals of the civil rights movement, historic federal laws, one might have concluded that rioting was no longer needed to call attention to the ills of the post-civil rights era.

You would have been wrong. The one that got national attention was in the Watts area of Los Angeles in 1965. The pattern continued with riots in 1966 and 1967. In April and May 1968 after Dr. King was assassinated, there were riots in 125 cities. The 1980s and 1990’s had their share of riots.

Just add Baltimore’s Freddie Gray’s name to the list of those who died either during an arrest or in police custody, sparking a riot. In the past the public generally backed the police, but now they are being depicted as undisciplined killers. The reality is that the police are the thin line of defense between us and the criminals whose job is theirs to arrest and detain. That occurs all the time. Police have more reasons to act in their own defense in a week than most of us will have in a lifetime.

As we learned from Ferguson, the original allegations against the police officer were totally false. Let it also be said that is not the only reason riots have occurred. A lot of them just seem to reflect feelings of alienation, anger, and dissatisfaction that bubble below the surface in black urban enclaves. Nothing is likely to change that.

So, as Baltimore cleans up the mess left behind by the latest riot, be assured that another is right around the corner somewhere. There is a core of law-breakers and angry blacks for whom virtually anything is excuse enough for a riot.

We had to pass through a Civil War to resolve the race-based ills of that era. Americans elected the first black American as President in 2008, but his race has not reduced riots during his time in office.

The lesson that we can draw from this is that, if you put enough people together in close proximity in a city where there is both wealth and poverty, where there are economic disparities between whites and blacks, you need only wait a while for the next riot.
